Chateau La Garance Description
n 1986, Alain Thiénot bought this property in Graves around the same time as Château Rahoul, a member of the Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux. When he was about to release the first vintages, he named the property after his daughter Garance.
Since 1988, the property has formed an integral part of Château Rahoul and benefits from the same ambitious policy undertaken in these vineyards by Alain Thiénot. For Château La Garance, the objective is simple: to provide a good introduction to the Great Wine of Château Rahoul and to reveal exactly to what extent the diversity of the property’s terroirs is an advantage to creating fine Graves wines.
Vinification & Ageing
Temperature controlled stainless-steel vats, of various capacities, adapted to a plot by plot wine making.
Small vats (52 Hl) for vinification of small and very qualitative plots.
